Outreach
St. John’s is a worshiping community with a meaningful and growing commitment to outreach.
In 2023, the St. John’s Outreach budget was $14,200, up from $12,000 in 2022 and $5,000 in 2021. Recipient organizations last year included:
Salisbury Family Services, offering support for residents who are struggling
Corner Food Pantry, our local groceries for the hungry program
Hispanola Health Partners in Haiti, Haitian doctors and nurses providing full primary care to the country’s most vulnerable
Housatonic Youth Services Bureau, providing free emotional and behavioral health services to youths and families
Jane Lloyd Fund to benefit cancer patients and their families in financial need
Chore Service, to help senior and disabled residents in the community remain at home
Salisbury EMS, fire and ambulance
In addition, all the proceeds from our Fall Festival activities are donated. St. John’s also supports TGIF Souper Supper, which provides a monthly free meal to all in the Salisbury community.
The St. John’s community Outreach commitment for 2024 is budgeted at $18,900, a 33% increase from 2023. Including our Diocesan pledge, over $34,000 will be allocated to the greater community beyond St. John’s.
